Alive & Kicking Program #64 – John Fleck – Performance artist John Fleck is one of Americas most outrageous performance artists. He, along with Karen Finley, Tim Miller and Holly Hughes were the celebrated NEA Four, who brought suit (and won!) against the National Endowment for the Arts for denying them funding for alleged, obscene content in their work. This program offers excerpts from Fleck’s solo work, “Mud In Your Eye”, recorded May 1, 2001 at Performance Space 122 in New York City. In this funny and provocative work Fleck dishes dirt on a range of subjects from male masculinity, to Hollywood moguls and gay icons. The program also includes an interview with the artist. Length: 29 minutes.
