Alive & Kicking Program #61 – Pat Oleszko #2 – The second of a two part series on the extraordinary Visual and Performing Artist, Pat Oleszko. This program features excerpts from “Roamin Holiday”, her hilarious work created during a 1999-2000 residency at the Rome Institute in Rome, Italy. In “Roamin’ Holiday” she uses the experience of living in Rome to poke fun at the iconography and the politics of the Catholic Church. The work features wildly original costumes, inflatable sculptures, video clips of the artist performing in the dis-guise of various saints in the streets and comic wordplay full of witticisms and puns to take viewers on a wickedly funny trip.
